Despite the COVID-19 crisis, the ESTEEM3 team keeps working!
In this 2nd edition of our newsletter, we focus on Transnational Access, Scientific Publications and Dissemination activities.

TRANSNATIONAL ACCESS
 
 
⚠️Information related to COVID-19 and TA projects: from now on, we inform all TA users in their acceptance letter that their projects may be postponed, and that they have to get in contact with their TA provider for more information.
 
Submission of 3 TA deliverables
 
In December 2019, 3 deliverables have been submitted to the European Commission in order to provide evidence regarding the exemplary course of the Transnational Access within ESTEEM3 > More
 
The 1st deliverable focuses on best practices for Transnational Access. The two other deliverables concern the monitoring of TA carried out during the 1st year of the project: the annual report, as well as user satisfaction. During the 1st year of the project, 139 TA projects have been approved to be carried out at one of the 15 laboratories in Europe.

TA success stories: Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications meets StEM
 
Since the beginning of ESTEEM3, a lot of successful projects raised from TA provision, including for international users.
 
In this edition, we focus on the “2D Nanosheets” project of Prof. Runfeng Chen from the Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications which was granted access to TA provider StEM in Germany in May 2019. One of the outcomes: a publication in the renowned journal ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering.

💻In general, the demand for TA is rising! As the project started in January 2019, the official website was created in May 2019. Since then, the number of visitors is continuously rising without an average of 500 visits every month📈. 
 
 
SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATIONS
 
Focus of 5 successful publications
 
In the framework of ESTEEM3, numerous successful scientific papers have been published in renowned journals, such as: Nano letters, ACS Nano, ACS Catalysis, Nat Commun and Advanced energy materials.
 
Selected highlights include 5 publications which have been produced by members of the consortium in the partner institutions CHALMERS, CNRS-CEMES, MPG, UCA and UCAM.
 
 
Some of the papers will be open access publications, responding to the European Commission requirements and the access policy of the project. Open access is ensured by each beneficiary, which means that the scientific publications are free of charge and available online.

Cancelled event: European Microscopy Congress 2020
 
ESTEEM3 was supposed to take part in EMC2020, with members as session chairs /speakers. Due to COVID-19, the event is cancelled but might be rescheduled.
